There is a place where voices sing of your beauty, a place where every breath carves your image in my soul.” It is not known exactly what place was meant in this poem by the sage Jelal-al-DIN Rumi, who lived in the XIII century, but it is possible that it is inspired by the image of the second homeland of the poet — the city of Konya, located in the Central part of Anatolia. Konya is the capital of the province of the same name with a population of about 1.5 million people, the ancient religious center of Turkey and the birthplace of the Sufi tradition. This is perhaps one of the most mystical corners of the country. The name of the city comes from the Greek iconium (icon).
