The bridge over the Bosphorus

At the word “Turks” the majority of our fellow citizens not so long ago there was an image of such person in a turban and in trousers. He drinks Turkish coffee, writes from right to left in Arabic script, prays to Allah for the health of his harem and camels. This image is as colorful as it is far from the truth. Turban is out of use at the beginning of the XIX century and was replaced by a FEZ, which, in turn, in the twenties, abolished the founder of the Turkish Republic Ataturk, Arabic script gave way to the Latin alphabet with him, and polygamy — a long time ago a criminal offense. If only it were all over the world…

It all started on a frosty morning, when my thirteen-year-old daughter Violetta and I came to the intersection of the Moscow ring road with the Minsk highway, intending to hitchhike to Egypt and there, at the pyramid of Cheops, to celebrate the New year.. I must say that I have seen a few of them, but still sincerely believe that Istanbul is really, if not the most, then at least one of the most beautiful cities in the world. So, my husband and I planned my vacation in advance, or rather we can not say what exactly we planned, most likely, just dreamed of where we can spend it. I was inclined to visit a foreign country, and my husband, due to the lack of a foreign passport, convinced me that we have not seen all the beauties of Ukraine. Little by little, I began to prepare him for the inevitability of travel abroad and help collect documents for submission to OVIR for registration of a passport, while saying that this is not for a trip abroad on vacation, and just in case, and cases, as you know, are different.
