City of light in the city of the sun

There was a city. Not that big, but not too small. In a beautiful Bay, surrounded on all sides by twelve cute Islands (just like in the fairy tale about the brothers-months). At the junction of the Aegean and Mediterranean seas, somewhere in the middle between today’s Marmaris and Kemer, opposite the island of Rhodes, at the foot of mount Mendos. Residents of the city were incredibly proud of their history. You bet! Once on these same lands located one of the largest ancient settlements of Lycia, the city of the Sun — Telmessos. The second reason for their sincere and genuine pride was the rocky slopes of Mendoza, transformed by the Rhodes knights of the order of St. John into a Grand architectural ensemble, up to the top “encrusted” with tombs. Whatever it was, but a reminder of antiquity, magnificent natural landscapes and hospitality of the hosts, in a word, all together, “in the complex”, Fethiye served a good service.
